Can I upgrade my laptop's cpu chip with that of a desktop's?

I have a Compaq Presario 1500 with a Pentium 4 1.6Ghz and I was wondering if I could upgrade it with one of the chips I have for my regular socket 478 desktops (maybe a 2.2 Ghz w/ 400 FSB). I used CPU-Z (a program that shows u your computer's specs) and it said that the laptop was socket 478, so it would fit. The only difference would be that the laptop's processor is a Pentium 4 m(for mobile i guess) and the desktop's aren't. Would it be possible?
