I'm scared of asteroids?

I've had this phobia of asteroids for quite sometime and I can't help but think about what if what if ect... I don't watch any of the doomsday crap thats on the History channel or on the TV in general and I don't believe in 2012... =/ but can someone give me some information that can ease my mind. The only asteroid I know of that may hit is the one in 2036. :(
