Why are Catholics so into rituals?
If you look at the Catholic Church in modern times, all you see is ritual. There are ritualistic costumes, ritualistic reciting of pre-written prayers, ritualistic worshipping of saints and the mother Mary, etc etc etc. When you contrast all that extravagance in the Catholic Church to the simple life that Jesus lived and the simple things that he preached, it doesn’t add up! If anything Jesus seemed to be anti-ritual. He actively disagreed with and yelled at the phony Pharisees with all their haughty and abusive attitudes. How does the Catholic Church reconcile the simple and straightforward Jesus of the bible with the radically different ritualistic church of today?
