A situation where religious beliefs have altered what people think is fair?

Abortion is where people stand divided as well. Deeply religious people think that it is "not fair" to "take" unborn life and a murder at that, to stop a pregnancy. Others think it is only fair to simply have a choice in the matter. Some old religions had yet another belief, kill a newborn to make sure Gods were in favour of their people - to sacrifice one for the sake of many blessings was considered fare. Voodoo till today sticks needles in dolls to hurt someone that has done wrong by you, all fair in their belief, whereas in other parts of the world "eye for an eye" is no longer considered fair, you are taught to forgive. Bible itself has two parts, the OldTestament teachings of "eye for an eye and the New Testament showing sudden new perception of deep love and forgiveness. Poeple of new testament had ( and still have) completely new idea of fairness than old and current believers of Old Testament.
