Man on the edge Please need I,m trying to installing a 2nd hrd/drv in my Dell XPS GEN-2?

existing HRD/DRV is a SATA uses ATA cable to conn.to M/BRD.My new HRD/DRV uses IDE ribbon type ,My CD/DVD is conn. to M/BRD in conn.marked Secondary-driveconnector(SEC-IDE). the connt.below that is marked -- Hard-drive connecter (PRI-IDE) and is not used. Can I conn. my new HRD/RDV to this conn. on the M/B,directly with IDE cable connt. and what should I do with the" capacity-limiting jumper",there both installed in them already so should I leave, remove ,buy a vowel ,choose door # 2 ,spin the wheel.Seriously I,m really confused and could use help very much.
